Our Sailing Experiences

We offer day sails or half day sails to individuals and groups of all ages with disabilities.

It is not only our disabled clients that enjoy sailing experiences but families, carers and supporters get to share the experience too.

Our free of charge trips run from April to September and we sail on Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays during the summer.

During our trips we encourage everyone onboard to participate in the sailing and you will have an opportunity to choose where we sail to.

What Our Clients Say

Young Sailor Mia

Steve, an able2sail volunteer and Mia a young sailor laughing

“Sailing provides Mia with a range of sensory inputs, from the motion of the boat, the feeling of the sea air on her face and the touch of the ropes. For the rest of the family it is a unique experience, joining in as part of the crew, be it on the winch or the pilot, or  simply sit back and relax whilst the crew supply you with tea and biscuits!”

FYF - Corr Hutton

Cor Hutton, Founder of charity Finding your feet and able2sail sailor

“In my group of amputees, we had prosthetics, crutches and wheelchair users, each with different accessibility needs and we were all treated as equals and as capable individuals – never made to feel disabled. It was a beautiful, freeing experience and more than a little exhilarating.  I loved it and can’t wait to do it again.”

Seasoned Sailor Jill

“I’ve been able to go out with able2sail and get on the helm to feel that wonderful exhilaration of the sails filling and the boat moving.  Volunteer expert skippers, crew and shore staff make all of this possible.  Having lost most of my sight I can only see contrasts in light and dark but have learned to sail with the sound of the sails and the wind on my face.”
